Companies are increasingly required to provide product-related environmental information where evidence is requested: in tenders, in response to customer enquiries, for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) or to meet future requirements under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) with the Digital Product Passport.
A product life cycle assessment prepared using the methodology in a correct way provides the basis for this: it shows where relevant environmental impacts arise, which data is reliably available, and what opportunities exist for product development, procurement, production and communication.

Product Life Cycle Assessments & LCA
Together with you, we clarify the purpose for which the life cycle assessment is intended, e.g. for internal hotspot analyses, customer enquiries, product comparisons or external communication. Depending on your intention, we derive the scope of the assessment, system boundaries, functional unit and appropriate impact categories.
Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)
If the focus is on greenhouse gas emissions, we prepare product-specific GHG inventories in accordance with ISO 14067 and contextualise the results for Scope 3 assessments, climate strategy and customer communication.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
We assess whether an EPD is required, for example because customers, tenders or sector standards demand standardised environmental information. We assist in selecting suitable Product Category Rules for estimating and reporting environmental impacts and preparing the technical basis for verification and publication.
Preparing for ESPR & Digital Product Passport (DPP)
We examine which product-related data is already available – for example, on material and energy efficiency, reparability or recyclability – and which processes are needed to consistently collect and update this data and make it usable for ESPR or DPP requirements.
Product Communication
By transparently demonstrating reference values, system boundaries, assumptions and limitations without undue simplification or greenwashing, we help you to communicate your environmental claims in a clear, product-specific way, tailored to your target group.
Verification

Life Cycle Assessments: Evaluating Environmental Impacts from Cradle to Grave
Life cycle assessments (LCAs) evaluate the environmental impacts of products, services or processes along the entire life cycle – ‘from cradle to grave’. Impact categories such as the greenhouse effect, acidification, eutrophication, resource consumption and soil contamination are considered. This allows product comparison, identifying hotspots of negative impacts, optimizing supply chains and avoiding an undesired shift of environmental impacts.
